What it backs up

Files you choose. Any folder on the PC, encrypted before it leaves.
Sync, on Pro. Folders kept the same on this PC, your Macs and your Linux machines, with earlier versions kept.
A full drive image, on Pro. Everything on a drive, so a failed one can be replaced and the whole image put back onto it.
A rescue USB. Starts a PC that will not boot, so a drive image can be restored without Windows running first.

Install options

Microsoft Store. Installs and updates through Windows.
Download for Windows (.exe). A direct installer, for when the Store is not an option.

What does Copy Shelter back up on Windows?

The files and folders you choose, or a full image of a drive. Either way it is encrypted on the PC before it is written anywhere, then read back and checked.

What is the rescue USB for?

It starts a PC that will not boot, so you can restore a drive image straight back onto it, or onto a replacement drive, without Windows already running.

Where can the backup go?

An external drive, a NAS or network share, or a folder in a cloud account you already pay for. Pro can write to more than one at once.
